This year I was determined to get my shopping done early, get everything wrapped, and be able to enjoy the holidays, and even maybe get to do some skiing. I came out of the gate strong, getting a lot of shopping out of the way Thanksgiving weekend. I was like a madwoman, wrapping late at night and planning my next move.
Then it stopped.
I
don't know if I ran out of energy or just motivation. I got the decorating done early, and the house looked great....for about a day. Now there is stuff everywhere, ribbon ends and wrapping paper scraps cluttering my dining room, and my garland meant for outside my front door is still sitting outside where I left it the week after Thanksgiving! Now here it is the day before Christmas Eve, my kitchen counter cluttered with baking ingredients needed to make the neighbors gifts. No gifts made yet though. I did not do any cards and my mother in laws box is sitting still open, waiting to be sent to Montana. Gifts are hidden throughout the house, some wrapped and some not, and I honestly do not know where some are. I finished my final purchases yesterday, and I boasted on Face
book I was done. I must have forgot all the other things needed to make those gifts
successful. (i.e. wrapping)
Where did the time go? I NEED MORE TIME!!!
Tomorrow will be like every other Christmas eve in the Douglas house. Freak out cleaning, wrapping until my back hurts, and baking away, until it is time to leave for Christmas Eve festivities. So much for skiing.........
